Man hospitalised after being stabbed with glass bottle
Kaieteur News – Chirulall Mankaran, also known as Tony, age 30 was on Wednesday afternoon stabbed to his left hip with a glass bottle by a 22-year-old male in Bush Lot Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Kaieteur News understands that the victim left his home at around 15:30hrs. to go to Sue Mamoo Chinese Restaurant in Bush Lot, to make a purchase. While he was there, he was confronted by the suspect with whom he had a previous misunderstanding.
The suspect, upon seeing the victim, approached him with a glass bottle in his hands and a fight ensued between the two; the suspect then broke the glass bottle and stabbed Mankaran to his left hip causing him to receive a wound.
A report was made at the Whim Police Station and the victim was escorted to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where was examined and treated and then transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he is currently admitted as a patient.
The suspect was arrested subsequently and investigations are still ongoing.
