Kaieteur News – A 46-year-old male has been the latest victim of a hijacking and robbery that occurred early yesterday morning. This has been the second hijacking that has occurred for this week.
According to a police report, the man was driving a silver Toyota Fielder Wagon, valued $2.8M, with registration number PZZ7156 at 1:10hrs along Leopold Street, when he saw a white Mazda motor car parked in the middle of the street, facing his direction and preventing him from proceeding further.
The two suspects, one of which was armed with a handgun and the other with a knife, exited the back passenger seat of the Mazda and walked up to the victim. The suspect with the gun then pointed it at the victim’s head and demanded that he exit the car.
The suspect who was armed with the knife began to search the victim’s pockets and robbed him of one iPhone 7, valued $80,000, a silver chain valued $45,000, and one silver band valued $28,000. They then entered the victim’s car while the Mazda motorcar reversed, giving the suspects a clear path to escape. Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.
