DEAR EDITOR,
My name is Roopnarin Persaud. I am a farmer from Helena. For years, farmers in this village have been suffering from flooding due to a number of blocked canals and internal drains. A few farmers and I met with Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, during a farmer’s meeting at his office and asked him to do some works in the area. He agreed and said that he would make a machine available to do the works soon. I am happy to report that the machine came and the works have been completed.
On behalf of the farmers from Helena, I would like to thank the Honourable Minister for his timely response and intervention. I would also like to thank the engineer who worked to have everything completed.
Yours sincerely,
Roopnarin Persaud
