Commemoration of ‘The Lord’s Meal’ to be done virtually

Kaieteur News – Jehovah’s Witnesses and friends, the world over, will commemorate The Lord’s Evening Meal on Saturday, March 27. This is the second year in a row that the Witnesses are celebrating the event virtually, owing to the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic, a Jehovah’s Witnesses’ statement noted.
In what is considered to be the most important event of the year on their calendar, Jehovah’s Witnesses have recently embarked on a worldwide campaign to invite as many persons as possible, through letter writing, telephone calls and other virtual means. Locally, the event will be held after sundown and anyone interested in attending can contact them for the meeting time and login Zoom information. The annual event is also being broadcasted on Voice of Guyana 102.5 F.M. and 560 A.M. at 6:45 P.M. on Saturday March 27, 2021.
As a build-up to this important event and in this time of pandemic, when many have lost the things they thought was of the highest value, the Witnesses are featuring the talk: “Have You Found a ‘Pearl of High Value’?” This 30-minute programme is based on one of Jesus’ parables regarding the Kingdom that many pray for when they say The Lord’s Prayer. This global virtual event, to which Jehovah’s Witnesses are inviting the community to in March, will provide comfort and hope. This too is available on the Voice of Guyana radio network at 11:30 a.m. and via Zoom on March 21, 2021.
“The pandemic has caused us to think about the things that are truly important, like our health, family, and most important, our relationship with our Creator,” said Andre Darrell, a spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses.
“Those who are searching for peace, security, comfort, and hope are warmly invited to attend,” Darrell said. “This special talk and the Memorial of Jesus Christ’s death will provide an outlook on present world events that will soothe aching hearts and provide a bright hope for the future.”
