Inaugural WeCare/Strathavon Mahaica Softball Cup set for Sunday

Kaieteur News – The Strathavon Sports Club and WeCare will be hosting the inaugural Mahaica Softball Cup on Sunday. The one-day limited overs competition will see teams and individual players vying for honours as cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the winner, runner-up, man- of-series, best bowler and batsman in an innings and the player who hit the most sixes in the final.
The Mahaica Softball Cup will be played under strict covid-19 Guidelines and all teams are asked to follow the rules set out. Masks will also be provided at the venue. Several business entities in the area have already pledged their support towards the hosting of the Mahaica Softball Cup.
Businesses on board are Demerara Bank, Rohan Auto Spares, Shiwnauth General Store, Viscom, Gavin Persaud Photography, Boodram General Store, Khaliludeen and Companyand Rohan Lumber Yard (Enmore and Unity).
According to the orgnaisers a limited number of teams will be accepted and registration will be on a first come basis. Interested teams are asked to contact Mr. Jermaine Persaud on 644 8172 or Mr. Gobindram Hemraj on 643 3319.
