Pleading for a reduction in transportation cost
DEAR EDITOR,
Despite the Senior Minister within the Office of the President with responsibility for finance, Dr. Ashni Singh’s announcement of a reduction in the excise tax on gasoline and diesel to relieve the impact of the recent sharp increase in the world market price for fuel, drivers of hire cars on the East Coast highway are still charging the old price of 200 dollars for short drops.
Please Commissioner of Police, please look into this matter, since it will be very difficult for the poor people to reach this high transportation cost.
