WeLead Caribbean has announced its fourth annual Women’s Empowerment Conference under the theme “DisruptHER.” Launched yesterday, the conference is expected to be held on December 8, 2020.
The initiative is spearheaded by a local entrepreneur, Abbigale Loncke who is also the President of WeLead Caribbean. Loncke was also recognized by former President of the United States, Barack Obama in 2016, as a fellow of the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative.
The conference is usually held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre with over 150 participants, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic it will be held on the virtual platform, Zoom, free of cost.
This year it will focus on “Changing the Element of Women’s Lives” through discussions about self-care and wellbeing, mental health, politics, business, education and others. It was stated that it will also serve as a valuable platform for women to integrate and collaborate in knowledge sharing and capacity building in support of the challenges posed in the region and by the ongoing pandemic.
According to its President, the leaders of the sessions have been handpicked by WeLead Caribbean based on their reputations and expertise in specific topics.
This year’s featured speaker will be Lisandra Rickard, Founder & CEO of Soul Career and Former CEO, Richard Branson Center of Entrepreneurship and the keynote speaker will be Jay Blessed, a multi-award-winning Caribbean-American blogger, podcaster and mental health advocate.

Innis CPA: Corporate Relations and Sales Management, Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management – University of the West Indies; Ashaka King – CEO, Pieces and Things Boutique; Lillian Lester-Blake – CEO, Center for Personal & Professional Excellence, LLC; Ryanna Miller – Realtor, COMPASS; Stacey Mollision – CEO, Libra Management and Energy Group; Michelle A.
