The organiser of the Mayor’s Cup five-a-side football tournament, Lennox Arthur, in a release to the media has informed that the event which was being organised to celebrate the 29th birth anniversary of Georgetown’s Mayor Ubraj Narine, has been postponed until January 2021, pending approval by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and local health authorities.
The Mayor’s Cup Organising Committee is extending congratulations in advance to the Narine who will celebrate his anniversary, tomorrow, October 12.
The teams confirming their participation in the Mayor’s Cup tournament are as follows:
East Bank – Timehri and Kuru Kururu. East Coast – Ann’s Grove, Victoria, Golden Grove, Mahaica, Beterverwagting, Plaisance, Buxton, Melanie, Lima Dam, Mahaicony, Turkeyen, Calcutta and Airy Hall. Georgetown – Tucville, Charlestown, Road Warriors and Bourda Blues.
West Demerara – Den Amstel, Pouderoyen, Bagotville, Uitvlugt, Stewartville, Crane, Back Street Kings and West Side Spartans.
