A year that landed us on every map
How far more can this go, the citizens just laps
What is democracy? if I may ask
Is it senseless acts and brutal attacks?
United we stand divided we fall
One people, one nation, one destiny, our motto I recall
Why do we allow the color of our skin to identify who we truly are
Cut us all, the same color of blood we see thus far
Love is what brings us together
Not creed, religion and race that we keep dashing to each other
No race should speak ill of their own bretheren
Words are like swords, be mindful dear children
No man deserve to die this outrageous kind of death
But why? Tell me why do we continue the blast of blood shed
Peaceful justice is what we demand
Fellow citizens do not apprehend and take things in your own hands
In the eyes of the highest rank, acts are committed
Hopelessly watching, the laws are being forfeited
How many more can we tolerate
What can we say to calm the hearts and stop the hate
Have we forgotten that we live in a circle
Dependent on each other yet every day we make scenes in the articles
Justice shall be served
Let peace reign and restore our turf
Together as one we will rise
For God is our shield let us act like the wise
Regain the meaning of the country’s motto
Stop taking lives, its not like a game of lotto
Life is short, such killing is pointless
Care for each other let love be endless
The Henry lives deserve better
May their souls rest in peace while we seek justice in this matter…

(Kaieteur News) – Guyana never ceases to amaze me. (Kaieteur News) – Those visits by Pres. Ali into places of worship may be paying off. He sees the light. He may insist that he sees god (meaning himself); I settle for light. Light is late in coming.
