The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is continuing to change daily routines even as the number of cases continues to rise in Guyana. With this, many organisations and businesses, including the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), have been making significant changes to continue to deliver services to customers, clients, and stakeholders during the prevailing pandemic.
In this regard, the GNBS is now providing online training programmes to stakeholders. Presently, it is collaborating with Delphi Consultancy Limited of Trinidad and Tobago to offer professional training courses virtually to company representatives and other individuals who desire to become knowledgeable in implementing and maintaining the requirements of national and international standard within the operations of their businesses to enhance competitiveness.
The training sessions will commence in October and last until December, 2020 with the availability of the following courses: Root Cause Analysis, Internal Quality Auditor Course, Risk Based Thinking, Data Analysis, Implementing and Documenting the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Process Mapping.
Meanwhile, to help companies satisfy obligatory product quality requirements within the supply chain, especially the oil and gas sector, GNBS provides technical assistance to those desirous of implementing the requirements of international standards. Over the years, GNBS has worked with several companies in Guyana towards ISO certification/ accreditation. These include: Assuria Life (GY) Inc. and Assuria General (GY) Inc., Dr. Balwant Singh’s Hospital, Mines Services Limited, Nand Persaud and Company Limited, Power Producers and Distributors Inc. (PPDI).
Other companies, which are interested in implementing management systems standards, can also confidently rely on GNBS support and contact the National Standard Body to get on board.
For additional information or to register for upcoming training courses, interested personnel and organisations can contact GNBS’ Business Support Services Department on 219-0064-66, via WhatsApp on 692-4627 or email at bss@gnbsgy.org.
