DEAR EDITOR,
CRG extends its condolences to the family of the Henry young men. It is unfortunate that some political actors are taking advantage of this very unfortunate and sad situation to increase the racial and political divide in our society.
CRG urges the new Government to operate in a bipartisan manner to foster reconciliation in our country. Since the 1960’s, there has been underlying tension building in our country and we must work together to move towards a more peaceful path. For this reason, CRG is asking for the establishment of a national memorial against racial violence to be erected that will provide an opportunity for the beginning of the reconciliation process between our races and major political parties.
No father nor any mother wants an environment filled with hate and despair where neighbours are viewed with suspicion and continual fighting becomes the norm. May the Henry young men and all others that we have lost due to the lack of compassion and lack of regard for our fellow man or woman find peace upon our land.
Once again our deepest condolences.
Mr. Jamil Changlee
