Mr. Bacchus indicated that an executive meeting to appoint committees will be held shortly.
Secretary, Anand Sanasie, probably the most experienced person in Cricket Administration, locally, in an invited comment indicated that the GCB has a lot of work ahead especially as it relates to attracting sponsorship. In this regard, he further indicated that a vibrant Marketing and fund-raising committee must be put in place immediately. He welcomed the new executives and posited that they must be prepared to expend personal resources to forge ahead as ‘the path would not be easy’.
The Guyana Cricket Board is clearly the most successful territorial Board in the region through fantastic on-field performances over the past five years from both senior and junior cricketers.
The GCB has been doing a tremendous job of promoting the game by organizing league cricket and in building practice facilities at Parika and Everest Cricket ground with plans to build two per year across the country where Cricket is popular or has been played.
