GNIC SC, Everest, MYO record victories

GNIC SC, Everest Cricket Club and Muslim Youth Organisation registered victories when play in the Georgetown Cricket Association New Building Society Ltd. 40-over second division tournament continued yesterday.

Trevon Jones took a six wicket haul for GNIC.

At Queens College ground, GNIC SC beat Sophia by eight wickets. Batting first, Sophia were bowled out for 106 in 16 overs. Vacacy Barrow and Malcolm Morris made 18 and 15 respectively as Trevon Jones grabbed 6-21 and Dwain Dick 2-13.
GNIC SC responded with 112-2 in 11 overs. Dick hammered five fours and five sixes in a top score of 58, while Premchand Sookdeo scored 30 with five fours.
At Everest, the host overcame Transport Sports Club by five wickets. Transport SC managed 132 all out in 39.5 overs, batting first. They lost opener Mark Ramsammy for one before Devaughn Nandan and Sunil Singh added 41 for the second wicket. Singh went for 14, while Nandan made 29. With the exception of Azeem Azeez who made 25, no other batsman offered any resistance as Raylin Payne captured 3-22, David Williams 2-29 and Richie Looknauth 2-28.
Everest CC responded with 133-5 in 23.3 overs. Saheed Mohamed slammed 10 fours in a top score of 63 while Looknauth made 26 not out and Dwayne Adams 17. Oslyn Batson took 2-22 and Joel Spooner 2-28. (Zaheer Mohamed)
