Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield stated that the parties are known to each other as at separate times they were both involved in a relationship with a young lady.
On the day in question, about 23:00hrs the accused, the victim and others found themselves at the home of the young lady. During that time, an argument erupted which subsequently led to a fight.
The deceased received a stab wound to the neck and other parts of his body. Thomas also received injuries as a result of the fight.
The court heard that Thomas received a wound to the head which was allegedly done with a beer bottle. The court was further told that the accused reportedly used a motorcycle, which is in police custody, to get to the scene of the incident.
