DEAR EDITOR,
The Hosororo -Kumaka road remains a nightmare for the residents. It brings out anger and frustration at the Regional Administration. It is not surprising that the residents of Hosororo vote overwhelmingly for the Peoples Progressive Party much to the annoyance of the Governing Party. The truth be told this governing administration has shown total contempt for the people of Hosororo.
A patchwork approach was used with limited success to remedy the poor state of the roads why it is so difficult for a “knowledgeable engineer” to redress this problem by ensuring that quality long-lasting roads are constructed with shoulders. Roads are built or repaired in the North West Region without shoulders. These roads deteriorate the said road starts from the side; perhaps if these roads constructed with high engineering standards inclusive of shoulders, then these roads can last longer.
Fundamentally, it is the opinion of many villagers that it is long overdue over fifty years for these three essential services, quality road, reliable water and electricity supply to be delivered to citizens of this Region and the entire country at large.
In conclusion, tiny but essential changes are not beyond the grasp of the present Government and its local administration. The interest of the people far outweighs the petty party politics, which has continued to divide and destroy the hopes and aspirations of the villagers.
Sadly, enough during the season of goodwill, the spiritual message of unity, hope, and expectancy is negated, by meaningless acts of sabotage and misguided political messages, which reinforces hatred, un-patriotism, and ill tolerance among the residents in these communities.
Frustrated Resident
