Conquerors youth and Riddim Squad win on Friday
Double header on tonight
The annual Turbo Energy Drink Knockout football tournament continued with match night number three on Friday with two matches at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground, Carifesta Avenue where Riddim Squad bettered Eagles FC 3-1 and Fruta Conquerors under-20 got past Police B via kicks from the penalty mark in the feature clash of the night.
Conquerors youth side that is fresh off victory in the 2019 Limacol football tournament held on to win the penalty shootout 4-2 after full and extra-time finished 1-1. Ameniki Buntin had equalised the game in the 54th minute for the Policemen who trailed since the 10th minute when Wayne Barker put Conquerors ahead.
In the opening match, Wendell Joseph netted a brace, while Kevin Agard added the third goal in Riddim Squad’s comfortable come from behind victory over Eagles FC that had Andre Adelph putting them ahead in the very first minute of the clash.
The tournament continues tonight with another double header featuring Camptown against Buxton Stars in the opener at 19:00hrs, while Pele will be pitted against Pouderoyen in the feature encounter at 21:00hrs.
The winning team of the 2019 Turbo Knockout tournament will receive 400,000; second place will pocket $200, 000, while third and fourth will receive $100,000 and $50, 000 respectively.
