DEAR EDITOR,

The GUA + MFPP worksheet is titled “Continental Destiny” and this is an abbreviated form, Continental Destiny is all about connecting with our historical and cultural roots in South America. This will bring trade investment opportunities, boost our tourism sector (currently over 50 thousand tourists visit the Brazilian neighbouring state to Guyana, Boa Vista, annually and most go to Campo Grande) and the Marketing of Guyana’s art/craft creating a sustainable revenue earning industry.
Billions of dollars has been spent under successive PPP and PNC Governments and all we have to show is an Amazonian Trail from Lethem to Linden. The pavement of the Linden – Lethem highway would bring Guyana billions of US$ trade from Southern Brazilian states and the Land Lock countries of Bolivia and Paraguay. These are the initial steps that will place Guyana in the centre of the integration process between Latin America and the Caribbean. It will ascertain our identity as a South American Nation and give us the support that we need in dealing with the Guyana – Venezuela border controversy.
In relation to the distribution of land to all Guyanese and relocating our population away from the coastland with the raise in the Atlantic – Pioneering and Enterprising Guyanese can create settlements along the Linden – Lethem Highway; as in the construction of the 3,400 km highway between Belem – Brasilia. The PPP and the PNC will never charter this course because they have a malignant mindset to heap Guyanese in a state of subjection and dependency to serve them as the Overlords.
Continental Destiny is founded on over 34 years (1985 – 2019). GUA members have developed cultural relations with Brazil, Colombia and Equador. We have had high-profile Exhibitions in Brazilian cities of Manaus – Amazonas, Boa Vista – Roraima, Cali – Colombia and Quito – Equador. In the Brazilian states, we met with the Governor, Mayor, Tourism Minister and the Academic Community at the UFRR – Universidad Federal do Roraima and other sections of the Brazilian population.
Continental Destiny will bring Guyana growth and prosperity and our Continental Neighbours will also benefit. For 60 years Guyana has marked time, we have to think wisely, the future of this young generation and those yet to come is in our hands.
