Grove Primary defeated Covent Garden Primary by 30 runs when the Guyana Cricket Board / Cricket West Indies Kiddy competition continued
yesterday with action in the East Bank Demerara Zone.
Grove Primary took first strike and managed 102-8 off their allocation of 14 overs at Thirst Park. After they were reduced to 17-3, opener Dumesh Singh and Shuray Johnson added respectability to the total.
Singh hit one four and two sixes before he was bowled by Nazim Hamid for 20 while Johnson made five fours and two sixes a top score of 36. Hamid took 2-5. Covent Garden responded with 72-7; Hamid scored 10 as Daniel Deen claimed 2-6.
