The main suspect who is believed to be the mastermind behind the robbery of the Mansoor General store on the Essequibo Coast, has been caught and is being processed for court. This is according to a senior police source within the G’ Division.
This publication understands that the suspect has since been identified as Marlon, from the Cotton Field Village on the Essequibo Coast. According to information, Marlon and an accomplice disguised themselves as customers, before robbing the General Store, which is located in Charity.
The suspect was caught in Dredge Creek by ranks of the Criminals Investigation Department [CID], mere hours after committing the robbery. The man’s accomplice, who police say is identifiable, has not yet been arrested.
During the robbery, a teenage girl was shot to the head. According to a close family member, the 18-year-old went into surgery last Tuesday, and is now in a stable condition at a private hospital.
