Parika Defenders, Factory Price triumph
Parika Defenders and Factory Price registered victories in their respective T20 softball matches played on Friday night at Demerara Cricket Club.

Parika Defenders defeated Floodlights by 70 runs. Batting first, Parika Defenders managed 200 all out in 20 overs. Opener Mahendra Balgobin struck three fours and four sixes in a fluent 51, while Marvin Basdeo made 34 with five fours and one six, Kabesh Persaud and Desmond Hoyte made 19 each and Ucil Armstrong 12.
Patrick Khan captured four wickets while Ramchand Ragbeer picked up three and Rawl Reid two.
Floodlights were off to a sold start with Khan and Reid adding 65 for the opening stand, but following their separation, Floodlights lost wickets at regular intervals and were restricted to 130-9. Reid slammed seven fours and five sixes in a top score of 76 while Khan made 19. Hoyte grabbed 3-33; Balgobin was named man-of-the-match.
Factory Price beat Randy XI by three wickets and five overs to spare in their encounter. Randy XI took first strike and posted 176 all out in 20 overs. Roy Seebaran led with 56 which contained five fours and four sixes, while Alex Sital made 36 with five fours and one six; he added 49 for the opening stand with Chris Singh who made 10. Sakian Jagdeo contributed 12 as Amar Gaj grabbed 4-18 and Premchand Singh 3-24.
Factory Price responded with 177-7 in 15 overs. Gaj scored 41, while Ajay Kishan made 36, Toolsie Sahadeo 29 and Khalid Hanif 26. Nandsham Boodhoo took three wickets. Gaj was named man-of-the-match. The game was organised by the GFSCA and played in observance of the birth anniversary of Dharam Persaud, Steve Narine, Jailall Deodass and Ricky Deonarian; all executive members of the GFSCA.
