The Georgetown Domino Association (GDA) has made a financial donation to Sophia Primary and St. Stephen’s Primary Schools that are both based in Georgetown. The donation was handed over to the Minister of Education, Dr. Nicolette Henry at the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) Brickdam office.
Vice-President of the GDA, Colin Boyce, said that the association is happy to make the donation to the two schools and looks forward to greater collaboration with the Ministry. He said that the GDA is interested in having dominos played in schools as a recreational sport.
Minister Henry thanked the GDA for its timely contribution to the improvement of the education sector. The Education Minister noted that more work needs to be done and said that she looks forward to as many stakeholders and partners as possible.
Minister Henry said that she sees great potential for the partnership with the GDA and noted that sport is an excellent tool for the nation’s young people to develop.
