I would like to my express deepest appreciation to the Police Officers who solved the murder case of Aaron Latchman and his teenage daughter, Arianna. The awards and recognition they received by the Guyana Police Force were well deserved.
As a people and a nation, we must never grow accustomed to brutal crimes such as these. I challenge the new Police Commissioner, to create and leave a legacy of a safer Guyana and to change the negative perception of the Guyana Police Force.
To those Police Officers who work hard day and night, doing their best to keep us and our country safe and to maintain law and order, I say a big thank you! And to those who fall short, remember the words of our National Pledge: ‘I pledge myself to honour always the flag of Guyana, and to be loyal to my country, to be obedient to the laws of Guyana, to love my fellow citizens and to dedicate my energies towards to happiness and prosperity of Guyana’.
Yours faithfully,
Audreyanna Thomas
