Two exciting matches will be on today to decide the finalists of the GFF–KFC National U20 “Independence Cup” when Dynamic FC face off with Botofago FC at 13:00hrs and Fruta Conquerors FC play against Santos FC at 15:30hrs at the GFF National Training Centre, Providence.
The semifinalists were decided following last weekend’s quarterfinals with the respective teams triumphing over their equal number from respective Regional Member Association (RMA) including Strikers FC from the Rupununi Football Association.
Each team will be looking for glory as they had comfortable victories in their quarterfinals matches: Fruta Conquerors 5 – 3 over Buxton United, Santos FC 3 – 1 over Strikers FC; Dynamic 3 – 0 over NA United and Botofago 3 – 2 over Timehri Panthers respectively.
Prizes for the inaugural tournament are as follows: 1st Prize – $500,000, trophy and medals; 2nd Prize – $300,000, trophy and medals; 3rd Prize – $200,000, trophy and medals and 4th Prize will be a trophy and medals. The third-place and finals are set for July 1 at the GFF National Training Centre, Providence.
