The fast improving Fisherman Masters were scheduled to depart Guyana this morning for the United States of America where they will take part in the New York Softball Cricket League Independence cup.
The team, which is based on the East Coast of Demerara, will join Regal Masters of Georgetown as the two teams from Guyana in the tournament which is set to commence Friday and conclude on Sunday with matches being played at Canarsie and Roy Wilkins Park.
Fisherman Masters’ Marketing Manager Zameer Hassan and the team’s owner Pooran Singh expressed gratitude to all those who have assisted in making their trip a reality.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport, Hassan said that despite this being their debut trip overseas, they are confident of doing well and will not take any team for granted. Hassan stated that his team is a balanced one and included a number of players with experience at this level. He said that some of the players are currently playing in a tournament overseas which is a plus for them.

The persons holding the ticket numbers 1041 second prize of one smart phone, 3069 3rd prize of one food hamper and 214 4th prize $8,000 phone credit are still to uplift their prizes.
