I hope that you could publish my letter about the situation of the workers of the Demerara Harbour Bridge concerning our job evaluation.
Our Union (GAWU) and the Bridge Management sometime ago completed our job evaluation. But the Bridge is not implementing the evaluation. Our Union, I have seen, has been working very hard to get the evaluation in place. They have written many letters but the Management continues to make excuse after excuse.
Many workers want the evaluation to come in place. We are sure we will benefit and we wonder why the Management does not want to implement it. We are hearing that the evaluation for the Management is not finished. But that should not prevent the workers from getting their rightful benefits.
I hope, on behalf of my fellow workers, that this letter would be published and that those in authority can address our situation.
Yours faithfully,
Concerned Worker
