Wellman Masters won the Everest Cricket Club/Trophy Stall 20-over softball competition which was contested on Sunday at the Everest Cricket Club.

Wellman Masters defeated Ariel by six wickets off the last ball of the final which was reduced to 15 overs. Ariel took first strike and managed 134-8. Shaheed Gittens struck six fours and five sixes in a top score of 78, while Clyde Hoyte made 22 not out and Randy Katwaroo 15. Wayne Jones and S. Cort took two wickets each.
Wellman Masters responded with 138-4. Lloyd Ruplall made 51 with two fours and five sixes while Latchman Kallicharran scored 47 which included one four and three sixes. Eon Lovell, who struck a six off the last ball with three ne
eded to win the encounter, ended unbeaten on 13. Ruplall was adjudged man-of-the-match by adjudicator Rajesh Singh, the Captain of the Everest Masters.
In his brief remark, Singh congratulated the winners and expressed gratitude to the teams for participating, adding that the tournament will be an annual event.
