A 24-year-old woman was hauled before a city magistrate as she was charged with allegedly attacking a police woman with a broken bottle and inflicting injuries on her after accusing the victim of being with a mystery man.
Natasha Henry, the mother of four, appeared yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus.
The Baramita resident was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that on April 11, last, at Baramita, North West District; she unlawfully and maliciously wounded Princess Bentick.
According to reports, on the day in question, Henry approached Bentick who started to accuse her of being with a man, something the victim said that she was unaware of.
During the ordeal, the defendant reportedly took a glass bottle, broke it and attempted to attack the victim. Henry was stopped in the process by persons nearby; however, she managed to break two more bottles and carried out her attack on Bentick who had her back turned.
As a result of the attack, Bentick received several cuts about her body and had to be rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
After listening to the facts presented, Magistrate Isaacs-Marcus remanded Henry to prison and instructed that she return to court on May 7, 2019.
