Two Corentyne men who are accused of a December 2016 murder are on trial in the Berbice High Court.
The men are Ravendra Ramnauth, alias “Andy”, 28, of 58 Beharry Street, Rose Hall Town; and Rocky Ramoo, 30, a farmer of Lot 112 Williamsburg Squatting Area, both villages on the Corentyne.
They are accused of murdering Mohan Ball, of Williamsburg Squatting Area on December 29, 2016. They are on trial before Justice Jo Ann Barlow and a mixed jury.
The case is being prosecuted by state prosecutor Mandel Moore while the men are being represented by state appointed attorney Sasha Roberts.
The deceased was reportedly found partially submerged in a trench located in the backlands of Williamsburg Squatting area.
The police were subsequently summoned to the area. The body reportedly bore visible marks of violence.
Investigations were conducted and the men were subsequently arrested and charged. The matter is continuing.
