Drunk mining camp owner kills relative with arrow
A 19-year-old miner is now dead after he was stabbed with an arrow by a drunken relative.
Police said that Dave Boyal, of Batavia, Cuyuni River, was slain around 22.00 hrs on Friday at Blackwater Island backdam, Cuyuni River.
According to reports, Boyal and other workers were in their hammocks when the camp owner, who was reportedly intoxicated, entered and began to cut down the hammocks.
When Boyal intervened, the camp owner, who is his relative, picked up an arrow and stabbed the teen in the abdomen.
Boyal succumbed shortly after. His body is at the Bartica Hospital Mortuary, while the suspect has been arrested.
