Dear editor,
my congratulations are extended to all of the National Awardees for 2019 for a job well done..
I,however, ask the question why Mr.Frederick A.S.Cox( deceased) ,former Executive Director of Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association (GRPA) has not to date been acknowledged for his stellar service to Guyana as being one of the persons in the vanguard in the areas of protection of people against Domestic Violence and issues of AIDS and other attributes to our society.
I can personally recall being with him on his almost fortnightly programmes ( some live, some recorded)on the National airwaves advocating against the aforementioned issues. He started an organization (MOM) and was the first President of the Brotherhood Of St.Andrew which is the Men’s arm of theAnglican Diocese in Guyana.
I also recall his commitment of leaving his personal matters
aside to work for his advocacy.
My fervent hope is that some recognition be made of this sterling son of Guyana so that his family would be able to finally accept that his efforts were not in vain. .
Where are our heroes Guyana? Apparent not here.
Orin Major
Former PRO /Marketing Officer
GRPA.
