A fine all-round performance by Dwayne Adams handed Everest Cricket Club an 18-run victory over Demerara Cricket Club when the teams collided yesterday in the Georgetown Cricket Association New
Building Society second division 40-over competition.
Host, Everest CC managed 168 all out in 35 overs after they opted to bat. Adams slammed four fours and five sixes in a top score of 52, while Amir Khan made 38 with three fours and one six and Kamesh Yadram 25. Leg spinner Steven Sankar grabbed 3-24 and left arm spinner Totaram Bishun 2-32.
DCC threatened somewhat but fell for 150 in 38.5 overs in reply. Derwin Christian made 30 including one four and two sixes while Raymond Perez made 23; off-spinner Richie Looknauth claimed 3-12 from 7.5 overs, Adams had 3-31 from eight overs and Travis Persaud 2-30 off seven. (Zaheer Mohamed)
