Early preparation is always the best path for teams who seek success on the cricket field and the Berbice Cricket Board is following this path. The Berbice Cricket Board has started its 2019 New York Business Group Under-19 Tournament as it forges ahead with plans to select its Berbice Under-19 team early for the Guyana Cricket Board Inter-county Championship. The Ancient County in 2018 won both the Three-Days, 50-Overs Titles and are determined to retain both in 2019.
The tournament is being sponsored by a group of businessmen based in New York via the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club. Rose Hall Town Pepsi under the leadership of Kevin Sinclair defeated Blairmont Community Centre Cricket Club to win the 2018 version. The 2019 Tournament would be the third edition of the very popular event, which is being contested by seventeen teams.
