Two persons were yesterday brought before Magistrate Marissa Mittelholzer to answer a charge of fraud that stated that on November 27, last, at Georgetown with intent to defraud, they obtained from Shaheed Ally a total of $2.2M by falsely pretending that they were in a position to sell him a BMW vehicle.
The two men were Julian Falcher and Compton Beckles.
Compton Beckles, also known as Jumbie Pumpkin, is a 58-year-old trader of 166 Middle Road, La Penitence. He was represented by Attorney-at-Law Paul Fung-a-Fat who made an application for reasonable bail.
Julian Falcher who is a 38-year-old Nurse for seven years at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) was represented by Attorney-at-law Leslie Benjamin who also made reasonable application for bail.
Both of the defendants were released on $60,000 bail and ordered to return to court on January 25, 2019.
