A drug addict only known as “Buckman” is now dead after being attacked and stabbed by four men who police said carried out the ruthless attack after the victim and others stopped buying cocaine from them.
The attack occurred at around 22:45 hours on Saturday near Lombard and Leopold Streets. Police hope that the killing might have been recorded, since it occurred just next door to the Alabama Trading, which had CCTV cameras on the premises.
The area was still awash with blood when Kaieteur News visited the scene.
One individual said he heard persons cursing and noticed three men standing over an individual who lay on the pavement.
He said that the man on the pavement was pleading for his life.
The witness said one of the men was wearing a red shirt and black jeans.
After the suspects left, persons ventured nearer and found “Buckman” clutching his abdomen.
An ambulance eventually arrived and the staff attempted to save the wounded man, whose intestines were protruding as he slipped in and out of consciousness.
Police in a statement said four male suspects are being sought for the murder of an alleged drug addict known only as ‘Buckman’, age about 45 years and of no fixed place of abode.
The release stated that he was stabbed multiple times because he and others reportedly stopped buying drugs from them. The victim succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention.”
The body is awaiting a post mortem examination but up to press time, no arrests had been made.
