Woman on Baramita trail was strangled -reputed husband held
The reputed husband of Baramita victim Rotina Thomas remains in custody as a post-mortem yesterday revealed she was beaten and strangled.
The post mortem report stated that death of the 23-year-old was from asphyxiation due to manual strangulation, compounded by blunt trauma to the head.
Police had detained the victim’s reputed husband and have been granted permission from the courts to detain him further.
Rotina Thomas’ body was found on a Baramita, Region One trail on October 24.
She was reportedly last seen alive in the company of her reputed husband and others.
They were drinking at several bars.
The reputed husband was arrested but later released.
