Fifty-eight year old, Mark Khan of West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, appeared yesterday before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, to face assault charges.
It is alleged that on July 03, last, Khan, at West Ruimveldt, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Frank Farouk Mohamed and Bibi Shaqram. He pleaded not guilty to the two charges.
The Prosecutor indicated that Khan and Mohamed are known to each other. On the day in question, Mohamed heard a loud banging on his door, and before he attempted to open the door, Khan shouted “open this f***ing door”. When he opened it, Khan began to punch Mohamed to his face and about his body.
The second virtual complainant, Bibi Shaqram, came to Mohamed’s rescue by trying to pull the two apart from each other, and without any hesitation, Khan also dealt a few punches to Shaqram.
Khan was granted bail to the tune of $160,000 and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on August 13.
