Thief gets 2 years on Break and Enter Charge

Two years ago, a thief, who was caught after breaking into a Charlotte Street, Georgetown home, was remanded when he appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Twenty-three year old, Jason Joseph of Lot 164 Charlotte Street, Georgetown, yet again entered the Magistrates’ Court, this time appearing before Magistrate Leron Daly.
Joseph pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated on July 4, 2018, he broke into the property of Sherwin Khan, at Lot 196 Charlotte Street, Georgetown and stole one 60 ft roll of electrical wire; one binder; a power drill; an electric plane and a sanding machine.
He also admitted to stealing an electric saw, an angle grinder and painted materials worth $3000.
The prosecutor indicated that after the items were discovered missing, a review was done of the camera footage and Joseph was handed over to the police.
The Magistrate after listening to the prosecutor’s submission sentenced Joseph to one year imprisonment for each of the two charges.
The sentences will run concurrently.
