The cream of the country’s Race-Walkers in all categories will be in action on Sunday July 29th when the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club (CSTC) stages it 10k Pre-Emancipation Day Race-walk around the outer circuit of the East Ruimveldt Community Centre from 06:30hrs.
Several of the country’s top walkers and a host of newcomers are expected to participate in the event.
Trophies, Medals and other lucrative prizes are at stake in the male and female (seniors), juniors, veterans and differently-able categories.
Interested participants must be at the starting line at 06:00hrs.
Meanwhile, Coordinator of CSTC Ms. Jennifer Major has stressed the need for more participation in the sport and more sponsorship if the discipline is to further developed and expanded. She emphasized that the sport is gradually progressing both competitively and leisurely but the major problem is sponsorship.
