Jaheme Henry won two of the four cycling events that were held yesterday as part of Olympic Day 2018 celebrations, the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) sponsoring the event which took place on the inner circuit of the National Park.
Henry first won the BMX 9-12 contest from Mark Lewis and John Niles in that order and then wrapped up a good day with victory in the 12-14 contest; crossing the line ahead of Marvin Knights and Shaquel Dow.
Jared Barrington ruled the roost in the 6-9 race and was followed to the line by Javin Henry, Jessica Mohabir and Lennox Jackman, the races were all two lap contests. The lone juvenile rider was Brandon De Nobrega.
Meanwhile, attention will be on the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) National Championships Senior Road Race which pedals off from Carifesta to Moblissa on the Linden Soesdyke Highway, 110 miles of what is anticipated to be fierce action. Race time is 07:30hrs.
