A 21-year-old man, who was allegedly caught on CCTV footage stealing a motorcycle, was on Friday remanded to prison by a City Magistrate.
It is alleged that Denzel Adams, between June 14 and June 15, at Campbellville, Georgetown, stole one Honda XR motorcycle valued $435,000, property of Julius Brown.
Adams denied the charge after it was read to him by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.
Police Prosecutor, Sanj Singh objected to bail being granted to the defendant citing that he was previously conducted for a similar offence.
The prosecutor added that the defendant was seen on CCTV footage removing the bike. He added that the bike was found in the defendant position and he admitted in a caution statement.
The prosecutor added that for those reasons, Adams should be remanded to prison. The Magistrate after listening to the prosecutor submissions remanded the defendant to prison.
He was instructed to make his next court appearance on July 13.
