People know wha does happen when a new kid land pun de block. De same thing does happen when a new person move in de neighbourhood. Everybody does watch, then dem does try to mek friends wid de new person.
Dem boys know people who bake cake and carry to de new neighbor as a gift. But if de person is a new gyal, is another story. Dem foreign companies come to Guyana like young gyal at a party and as soon as dem land, de government eye light up.
Things look like love at first sight because de things dat de government give to dem companies. Dem boys know dat once dem gyal ketch dem eye is time fuh dem put dem hand in dem pocket. Dat is wha Guyana do. All dis time, de people who live here can’t even get a wink from de government. But de new company get nuff thing.
Well one of de local company decide to complain because in de height of de slackness, one foreign company open he mouth and seh how he waiting fuh some of de odda things de government promise. And dis was just like wha does happen wid a new gyal. She does promise too.
De company meet wid de government and promise to do nuff things. De government seh is alright and it give nuff concessions. Well dat is wha de local company want to know bout because it pay fuh everything; it had to pay tax and it want to know if de foreign company get tax write-off.
Dem boys find out dat dis company ain’t keep a single promise. It tell government dat it gun set up a solar farm dat would give power to UG. Dis is de same company who now quarreling dat it can’t get electricity. Like de government did promise free electricity while de local company had to pay millions of dollars in light bill.
Well dem boys gon deal wid all who get free ride because Jagdeo give nuff of he friends free ride while de local company struggle. And is dem same local company, dem does go to fuh money to contest election.
Talk half and expose de concessions wha dem foreigners get.
