The case for the prosecution as presented by Corporal Winston Poliah, was that the couple had secured their premises and left to go and worship at a nearby church. Upon their return about three hours after, they noticed that the house was broken into and the place ransacked.
The woman, upon checking, discovered that a Government of Guyana laptop, a digital camera, an electrical De Walt drill, a hand held drill and battery charger, an electronic tablet, a hammer, two cellular phones , 20 pieces of curtains, along with $40,000 cash were missing.
The matter was reported to the Central Police Station and an investigation commenced.
The accused was subsequently contacted and after interrogation admitted to committing the crime.
The court was told that some of the articles were recovered in the prisoner’s possession.
