Dear Editor,
I have a big problem with your COMMENTS and JOIN THE DISCUSSION areas of your various news items.
The problem? it seems that persons making posts thereto are wasting their time. So why do you have it as an encouragement to readers to start and/or join a discussion?
Totally and absolutely false and pretentious!
A few moons ago I was quite active in that section, then without notice it disappeared. Some time earlier this year I discovered by accident that it was once again alive and more particularly with Freddie Kissoon’s articles. So I rejoined the COMMENTS AND JOIN THE DISCUSSION and had just a sprinkling of my writings published.
I wondered why, for as an experienced writer and contributor, I eschewed vitriol while writing in a style that would require very little editing. I said sprinkling but I should be more pertinent for that sprinkling was but a few, given the numbers I have written.
I wondered and came to the conclusion that you have been making a completely false representation as very little Comment/Join the discussion is ever published.
I looked at all the news items (despite my having made several comments) and noted that no comment/ discussion appeared under any single item on a daily basis!!
I deem my conclusion to be absolutely correct, that you have been making a false representation as you have absolutely no intention of publishing any comment/ discussion under that section of your news articles etc, as you do not, apparently cannot, and will not publish any discussion/comment.
Time for you to remove this falsity from your paper which I read every day. It is my suggestion that you delete that adjunct you have under your news items.
This above all, to thine own self be true.
