The National Draughts Association would be holding a one day National Draughts competition on Sunday May 27th 2018 at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue. The Annual event would be played on the International 100 square Boards on a round robin system. Starting time is 10:00am and entrance fee is $300 per player.
This event is expected to attract the top 100 square players in the country. The present National champion in this format of the game is Mark Braithwaite. However, Khemraj Pooranmall, who was out of competition last year, would be the one to be reckoned with. Pooranmall and Jiaram, who had just returned from a successful trip in Trinidad, can be the pick of the day. Ulric Braithwaite who is out of form would be scurrying to meet with the front runners, while Steve Bacchus is expected to rally with some luck.
Players are asked to be on time for a prompt start and early finish. At stake are trophies for the top four places.
All International 100 square players in the country are invited to participate.
