Dear Editor,
Why hasn’t President Granger taken any action against the corruption involving Joe Harmon and other corrupt individuals in his Government?
All over the world top government officials have been fired or jailed because of corruption. Except in Guyana. After three years of Granger’s presidency, no member of his cabinet or government has been fired or jailed.
In addition, the halfhearted fight on corruption by Granger consists of forming bodies like SARA and SOCU and placing the corrupt Joseph Harmon to manage these bodies.
This is a big joke and this president has misled Guyanese about honesty in his government.
The entire population of Guyana knows about Harmon’s trip to China with some of his retired GDF “squaddies” where he breached anti-corruption rules by accepting an expensive business jet transportation within China paid for by the notorious company Bai Shin Lin.
In his China conspiracy late January 2016, Harmon used a Ministry of the Presidency certificate and appointed Brian Tiwarie as a Business Advisor. Tiwarie of BK International, a former Bharrat Jagdeo insider, with no experience in International business, joined Harmon on his ill-fated China trip.
When the press asked tough questions to Harmon about his China trip, he shut down any investigations by threatening lawsuits. Jagdeo did the exact same thing.
Hundreds of thousands of Guyanese who voted for change, justice and so on, feel betrayed by Granger. It appears Granger is directly encouraging corruption and Guyanese will not experience the good life under this corrupt government.
Sincerely,
Anthony Moore
