Dear Editor,
Sell Basil Williams, buy Joe Harmon. And invest in popcorn too because the 2020 presidential slot for the PNC led coalition which is set to open at the PNC Congress, looks wide open. There is a head of steam building around the view that David Granger was only interested in the Presidential pension and now with that issue sorted, the party may be able to persuade him to step aside just before the 2020 elections and leave the rest to the people who are currently running the country to figure out the rest.
So why buy Harmon? Joseph Harmon, the Minister of State, seemed to have recovered from the controversial China Trip although the missing US$5 million on the GTT share payments remains an unsolved mystery.
But something big is happening as the party members assemble for the upcoming PNC Congress. Mr. Harmon has moved into pole position to compete for the Chairman of the Party against Basil Williams. The information coming to my attention from several PNC members is that they are more inclined to vote for Harmon rather than Williams because they see him as a “man of action” who is more likely to get things done for the PNC members rather than Williams.
May the better man win but it is my conclusion that if Mr. Williams sneaks in, that will be the end of Harmon after 2020.
