Two months after being released from prison after spending two years for robbery, a mason was back before a City Magistrate yesterday, to answer to another robbery charge.
Twenty-four-year-old Patrick Goodluck of North Sophia appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The allegation is that Goodluck on February 25 at Pike Street, Kitty, armed with a gun, robbed Felicity Carmichael of $50,000 cash and articles valued $218,000. He denied the charge after it was read to him by the Magistrate.
Goodluck’s attorney in an application to secure bail for her client told the court that her client came out of prison on February 13, last, after spending two years in prison on a robbery charge.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne objected to bail being granted to the defendant citing the serious nature of the offence and the fact a gun was used to commit the robbery. She added that the defendant is a convicted robber and if granted bail he would not return to court for the trial.
The Magistrate remanded the defendant. He was instructed to make his next court appearance on May 2 for report.
