Linden’s municipality welcomes 10th Mayor
The officials preparing for the ceremonial salute
Linden’s newly elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor took office on Wednesday afternoon last. After former Mayor Carwyn Holland’s tenure came to an end on March 28, 2018, the Region 10 town welcomed its 10th Mayor and Deputy Mayor- Waneka Arrindell and Wainewright Bethune- respectively.
The ceremonial parade took place in the compound of the Linden Mayor & Town Council and was led by the Town’s Constabulary officers.
The ceremony, according to the Town Council, attracted Civilians, councilors and staffers. As is customary, a ceremonial salute welcomed the Mayor while a rank inspection was also conducted.
Mayor Arrindell made it clear that she believes in a democratic leadership style and that is one she intends to follow. She also promised to work closely with all Councilors to ensure that the Community of Linden achieves much needed growth and development.
