GCCI’s Executive Management Committee from left: Timothy Tucker, Deodat Indar, Shanti Persaud, Nicholas Boyer and Kester Hutson
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) yesterday unanimously re-elected Deodat Indar to lead it for another year. This would be Indar’s second year as President.
About a week ago, GCCI elected a new council for the year 2018/2019. The Council, which consists of 21 members, held its first statutory meeting yesterday to elect a new Executive Management Committee.
The new Management Committee is composed of Indar of Sterling Products Limited as President; Nicholas Boyer of National Hardware (Guyana) Limited as Senior Vice-President; Timothy Tucker of Rid-O-Pes as Junior Vice-President; Kester Hutson of Dapper Technology as Secretary and Shanti Persaud of Silvie’s Variety Store as Treasurer.
Kaieteur News understands that this year’s election saw one of the biggest voter turnouts in the recent history of GCCI. Some 50 persons were nominated to be part of the council of which the aforementioned 21 were chosen.
