Scores of persons turned out to view the exhibition at the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT) first ever Tech show, Innov8 Summit and Exhibition, which kicked off yesterday at the Guyana Marriot Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown.
Exhibitors displayed impressive innovative ideas which incorporated the use of technology that can be used in the home; to develop critical thinking; and assist in business ideas among other things.
At the Exhibition persons were enlightened on how technology can be used to improve everyday life.
Singers Guyana showcased the used of Google’s Alexa, Amazon Echo Home, which persons can use to turn on and off their smart refrigerators, microwaves and other gadgets in the home just by the sound of their voices. Alexa can also turn on and off lights; give news reports among other things.
STEM Guyana was also at the exhibition showcasing the use of Robotics and the way in which it can help persons become entrepreneurs and develop critical thinking at an early age.
Experts from Google, Microsoft, and other Tech companies were also at the Expo. They demonstrated gadgets, robotics and other top (OTT) applications like YouTube, Facebook and Whatsapp while showcasing how they can improve everyday life and help persons to make money.
Also at the expo was Star Computers, who displayed 3D printers, holograms which are still in testing phase and many other new gadgets which they said can be used to make life easier.
Apart from the impressive show of innovative ideas, it was the gaming tournament which attracted a large number of persons. There was live gaming tournament. Groups of persons were playing Leagues of Legends, FIFA World Cup, and other games to win prizes.
Bloggers and Vloggers were also at the exhibition, they were given exclusive access to booth exhibitors and summit activities.
Tomorrow there will be a Cosplay fashion show which will showcase Cosplay with hybrid technology. It will allow members of the public to enter into a competition for the best cosplay design.
The exhibition continues today and ends on Tuesday, March 27, with a business forum.
